Claudeforce: Bring Your Own UI

Salesforce and Anthropic announced Claudeforce on August 26, 2026. Here’s what it means for your Salesforce strategy, Agentforce, and Slack.

On August 26, 2026, Salesforce and Anthropic announced Claudeforce, a partnership that puts Claude inside Salesforce and puts Salesforce inside Claude. It’s easy to read this as another AI feature announcement. It isn’t. Claudeforce signals a change in how Salesforce sees its own platform, and it has direct implications for how your organization should plan its Salesforce roadmap.

Here’s what Claudeforce actually includes, why Salesforce built it this way, and what your team should prioritize now.

Claude can handle many of your biggest data questions using Salesforce MCP already

What is Claudeforce

Claudeforce is the umbrella partnership between Salesforce and Anthropic. The first product under that umbrella is Salesforce in Claude, which lets salespeople work directly inside Claude instead of the Salesforce interface.

A seller can ask Claude which deals need attention today, what changed in their pipeline, or how to prepare for a meeting with a specific account. Claude reasons across Salesforce data, Slack, and other connected tools, then executes actions back into Salesforce.

Salesforce in Claude launches with 37 prebuilt sales skills, including pipeline review, meeting preparation, deal health scoring, forecasting, account planning, and CRM hygiene. Select customers have access now, with a broader beta planned for September 2026.

Every action Claude takes flows through Salesforce’s Headless 360 and MCP infrastructure. That means Claude inherits the user’s existing permissions, validation rules, and business logic. An admin connects Claude once at the org level, rather than every seller setting up their own integration.

Salesforce has also shown early Claudeforce experiences for Service, Marketing, Commerce, Revenue, Field Service, Tableau, MuleSoft, Informatica, Data 360, and Industry Clouds, with more skills expected later in 2026.

Claude in Salesforce Will Go Beyond Sales

Claudeforce works in two directions at once.

Salesforce is going inside Claude. This is the headline. Employees can now operate Salesforce from inside a conversational assistant instead of clicking through Lightning pages.

Claude is going deeper inside Salesforce. Claude now serves as a reasoning model for Agentforce, powers Agentforce Vibes and Agentforce Coworker by default, and is available through Agent Builder. Through Amazon Bedrock, Claude can also operate inside the Salesforce Trust Boundary for regulated industries like financial services and healthcare.

Claude is becoming central to Slack. Salesforce confirmed Claude is now the default model for Slack AI and Slackbot, along with Salesforce in Claude, Headless 360, and Agentforce Coworker. Claude is the first LLM provider fully integrated within the Salesforce Trust Boundary.

This is not an exclusive agreement. Headless 360 runs on open standards, and Salesforce has confirmed the same business capabilities are available to Agentforce, Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, and other AI platforms. But the depth of investment tells you where Salesforce is placing its bet.

Salesforce Isn’t Fighting the Current

Every SaaS company is facing the same question right now: if an employee can accomplish a full day of work by talking to an AI assistant, why would they open the application at all?

Patrick Stokes, Salesforce’s president of applications and marketing, gave a direct answer. He told VentureBeat that Salesforce does not need customers to use a Salesforce-designed interface, because Salesforce believes its real value lives in the data, metadata, workflows, and business logic underneath it.

That statement reframes the whole platform. Historically, Salesforce meant application plus interface plus database plus workflow plus ecosystem. Salesforce increasingly wants to mean a governed enterprise operating layer, with Claude, ChatGPT, Slack, and custom interfaces sitting on top.

Headless 360 makes that layer possible. Salesforce now describes its platform as a set of reusable business capabilities that an authenticated AI agent can discover and use, instead of something people only reach through a Salesforce screen.

Salesforce is moving down the technology stack before another company moves above it.

Why Anthropic

According to Stokes, once Salesforce introduced Headless 360, customers started connecting different AI tools to Salesforce through MCP on their own. Claude consistently came out on top. Anthropic was also already using Salesforce internally, building its own skills and MCP servers to run its business. Salesforce and Anthropic productized what sophisticated customers were already assembling by hand.

The fit runs deeper than convenience. Anthropic and Salesforce have emphasized regulated industries, data protection, and enterprise-grade safety in their partnership since 2025. Salesforce is also an investor in Anthropic, and Salesforce’s latest earnings included a gain tied to that investment.

Anthropic gets distribution in return. Claude now reaches millions of enterprise employees and some of the most valuable commercial and operational data sets in the world.

What About Agentforce

Claudeforce does not replace Agentforce. It clarifies the role each product plays.

Salesforce positions Agentforce as the home for autonomous, domain-specific, customer-facing agents. Salesforce in Claude addresses human knowledge workers who want an assistant to help them do their jobs faster.

Ask Claude to review your top five deals and explain why they matter, and you get an interactive assistant. Ask Agentforce to qualify every inbound lead around the clock, and you get an autonomous agent running a defined process.

These roles will blur over time. Claude can call Agentforce agents through MCP, Agentforce can run on Claude as its reasoning model, and both execute against the same underlying Salesforce data. Think of Agentforce as the agent runtime and orchestration layer, with Claude increasingly serving as the interface employees talk to directly.

Advice We’re Giving Our Customers

Plative is both a Claude and Salesforce partner. We’re giving our customers the following advice: The biggest shift Claudeforce demands is where you focus your investment. Stop optimizing your Salesforce strategy around screens. Start optimizing it around the quality of your underlying data and processes.

A well-built Salesforce org gets more valuable in this world. A poorly built one becomes a bigger liability, because Claude cannot fix bad data, sloppy permissions, or undocumented business rules. It can only act on what’s already there.

If your opportunity data is unreliable, your account hierarchy is a mess, or your business rules live only in your team’s heads, an AI agent inherits all of that. If your data is clean, your security model is sound, and your workflows are well defined, Claude and Agentforce can execute against that foundation at scale.

That means shifting priorities toward data quality, security design, integration architecture, workflow automation, and agent governance, and away from large investments in custom UI built mainly to help humans click through information manually.

What’s Next

Claudeforce is Salesforce betting that AI can absorb the interface without absorbing the platform underneath it. That bet only pays off for customers whose Salesforce foundation is clean enough for an AI agent to act on with confidence.

Plative helps Salesforce customers build that foundation, from data quality and security design to Agentforce and Claude implementation.
