Every GTM team has some version of the same problem.
A deal has been active for three months. There are 40 Slack messages, six discovery call recordings, two proposal decks, a chain of emails with the economic buyer, and a Salesforce record that nobody has fully updated since January. Then leadership needs to get involved. Or a new account executive takes over. Or an escalation happens at 7 p.m. on a Tuesday.
Someone has to spend 45 minutes getting the room up to speed before any actual decisions get made. Gathering all the necessary context, even with AI access was a major problem. And until recently, there was no good solution.
Anthropic launched Claude Tag on June 23, 2026. It is available in beta for Claude Team and Enterprise customers. For GTM teams specifically, it is the first time AI has been positioned as a shared, persistent teammate inside the tools your revenue team actually lives in, rather than a separate tab someone has to remember to open.
What Changed
The original Claude integration in Slack was useful but more personal and transactional. You asked a question, got an answer, and the conversation disappeared. Claude didnt have full channel context, let alone have access to a call you had with the customer six weeks ago.
Claude Tag changes the underlying model. When you add @Claude to a Slack channel, it joins as a member of that channel. It reads everything posted. It builds context over time. When someone tags it, it is not starting from scratch.
The more important change is what Anthropic calls multiplayer mode. The old integration was single-player: one person, one session, one context window. Claude Tag operates across the entire channel. Every person in that channel works with the same Claude, and Claude’s memory of the conversation is shared. A CRO who joins a deal channel on day 30 can ask @Claude for a briefing and get the same answer as the AE who has been in the channel since day one.
This is the shift for GTM teams.
How to Think About It
Think about the information that lives across a typical enterprise deal:
- Slack threads between the AE, solution engineer, and delivery team
- Call transcripts from discovery, technical review, and legal
- Emails with the economic buyer and procurement contact
- The proposal deck and the SOW in Google Drive
- Salesforce: opportunity record, activity history, contacts, and open tasks
Today, that information sits in five different places. No one person has all of it in their head. When a deal stalls, escalates, or transfers, the first 30 minutes of any conversation are spent reconstructing context that already exists.
Claude Tag makes that context available to everyone in the channel, on demand, without manually doing the reconstruction.

Three Ways GTM Teams Should Use This Now
Deal channels
Create a dedicated Slack channel for every major active opportunity. Add @Claude to the channel from day one. Connect it to your CRM, your shared Google Drive folder for that account, and your call transcript tool.
From that point, anyone on the deal team can ask @Claude to summarize the last three calls, pull the decision-maker’s stated priorities from discovery, or identify commitments the team made that have not been closed. The whole team gets the same answer.
When leadership joins, the briefing takes 90 seconds instead of 45 minutes.
Escalations and red accounts
This is where multiplayer mode pays off the most. When an account escalates, the first challenge is getting the right people informed quickly. The second challenge is making sure everyone is working off the same version of events.
Add the executive sponsor to the escalation channel. Tag @Claude. Ask it to brief the newcomer on what happened, what was tried, and what the customer’s current commitments are.
From there, @Claude stays in the channel as the swarm works the problem. Someone asks what the SOW says about the deliverable in dispute. Someone asks for a draft holding statement to send the customer. Someone asks what open Salesforce tasks are still assigned to this account. Claude handles all of it from the channel, without anyone switching tabs or chasing down documents.
Proposal and presentation review
Drop a Google Drive link to a proposal deck or executive presentation into the channel. Tag @Claude and ask it to review the deck against the discovery call transcripts and the customer’s stated priorities. It reads the deck, pulls from the transcripts, and tells you what is missing or misaligned before you get on the call.

How to Set It Up
Claude Tag requires a Claude Team or Enterprise plan. Here is the basic setup sequence for a GTM team.
Step 1: Get Claude Tag into your Slack workspace. In your Claude admin settings, connect your Slack workspace. Claude Tag will appear as an installable app. Your Slack admin approves it at the workspace level.
Step 2: Create your deal channels. Name them consistently: #deal-[account-name] for active opportunities, #escalation-[account-name] for red accounts. Add the relevant team members.
Step 3: Configure the tools Claude Tag can access per channel. This is the admin step most teams skip, and it is the one that determines how useful Claude Tag actually is. For a deal channel, connect your CRM, your shared Google Drive folder for that account, and your call transcript tool. Claude Tag gets its own service account for each connected tool. No individual user credentials are required.
Step 4: Add @Claude to the channel. Once added, Claude Tag begins building context from that point forward. Tag it in and tell it what the channel is for.
One important limit: Claude Tag in a shared channel cannot access individual team members’ personal email inboxes. It operates on a service account model for shared resources. For email context, the practical workaround is a shared alias (dealname@yourcompany.com) that your team BCCs on customer communications. Connect that shared inbox to the channel, and Claude sees the full email thread.

What This Means for Private Equity GTM Teams
For private equity firms managing GTM integration across portfolio companies, Claude Tag introduces a consistent operating layer that does not require every portfolio company to build their own AI practice.
A portco with five sales reps and no RevOps function can run the same deal intelligence workflow as a 200-person revenue team. The setup takes an afternoon. The context builds automatically.
For operating partners doing commercial due diligence or supporting a 100-day plan, Claude Tag in a dedicated channel gives you a real-time window into deal activity across the portfolio without requiring weekly status calls to assemble information that already exists.
Getting Started
Claude Tag is in beta today for Claude Team and Enterprise customers. The setup is straightforward. The configuration decisions, which channels, which tools, what standing instructions you give Claude, are where most teams benefit from guidance.
