Meet Sandesh, Salesforce Solution Architect Team Lead at Plative
Fun Facts:
- My wife and I have twin daughters, Akshita & Anvika, who are turning 5 this year. Akshita looks like me and Anvika looks like my wife. It’s ironic because although Akshita looks like me, she favors my wife, and my other daughter Anvika, who looks like my wife, favors, and likes me more.
- I love debates and was on the debate team throughout college where I won competitions. I am able to debate in 2 languages – English and Hindi.
- My favorite food is Vada Pav, which is a deep-fried potato dumpling placed inside a bread bun sliced almost in half through the middle. I love it so much that when I was younger, I would walk out of restaurants if they did not serve it. I eat a Vada Pav a few times every week.
What do you do at Plative?
I’m a Team Lead and Solution Architect at Plative. I manage a team of Salesforce Developers in Mumbai India and am also a Salesforce solution architect. As a Solutions Architect, I work with clients to build and integrate information systems that match their needs.
What is your favorite thing to do in your city, Mumbai
One of my favorite things to do in Mumbai is to celebrate the one-day festival and team sport Dahi Handi. It involves communities hanging an earthen pot filled with dahi (yogurt) or another milk-based delicacy, at a convenient or difficult to reach height. Young men and boys form teams, make a human pyramid, and attempt to reach or break the pot. As they do so, girls surround them, sing with music, and cheer them on. It is a public spectacle, and well organized historic tradition of Hindus, with media attendance, prize money, and commercial sponsorships!
What did you eat for breakfast today?
I ate Poha, a traditional breakfast, this morning. It is made up of rice, onions, spices, cilantro, and other veggies! It is a traditional dish and is a staple for breakfast.
What is an unusual passion of yours?
One of my unusual passions is always being up to date on current world affairs. I love reading up on all world affairs and reading the news across different sources. I love having conversations with other individuals to converse about the news. It might be the debate side in me!
What was your favorite event with the Mumbai Team?
Before COVID, the Mumbai Team and I would have team lunches every month as part of our team-building event. For one of the events, we went out for lunch to celebrate Anisa’s, a colleague of mine, birthday, and then we all went to the outdoor patio of our WeWork office. We went from eating birthday cake to having a very fun “photoshoot” with our phones since we wanted to take candid photos of the birthday celebration. Events like these are what make me miss my awesome team!
