Fun Facts about Kristin:

  • I have been to 49 of the 50 states in the US. I hope to go to Alaska next year and finish out the list.
  • I love mentoring and spending time with kids and youth. I like to lean into being a big kid at heart.
  • Baking with my sourdough starter is a fun and delicious hobby. I recently made a really good focaccia bread that got rave reviews at our Halloween party. King Arthur Baking has great recipes and tips.

What do you do at Plative?

As a Senior Business Analyst, I assist our nonprofit clients with implementing the Salesforce platform. This often includes asking a lot of questions to understand the organization and team using the system, creating documentation such as process diagrams and user stories, and configuring Salesforce based on those requirements.

What’s your favorite thing to do where you currently live?

I live in Baltimore, Maryland and enjoy nearby getaways to the beach on one side and mountains on the other. I also enjoy playing in the city softball league, finding reasons to explore around town, and hiking anywhere nearby. One of my favorite activities to do in Baltimore is the occasional groovy music and laser show held in the Maryland Science Center planetarium near the Inner Harbor.

What would you do if you didn’t choose your career path?

Ever since I was a child, I was enamored with clouds, storms, and the weather in general. I wanted to be a broadcast meteorologist for so long and got my undergraduate degree in atmospheric sciences. I even took a course in college where I spent a few weeks forecasting storms and storm chasing through “Tornado Valley” in the US. After interning with a news station in Virginia one summer, I flew back to assist them in their coverage of a hurricane that came ashore. I still enjoy a good storm, watching the sky, and studying clouds.

What is your most unusual or hidden talent?

Working from home offers a lot of time by yourself during the day. I’ve adapted by often jamming to new and old favorites and working on my dance moves while working at my standing desk. I’m not sure if it’s a hidden talent necessarily, but at times I’m sure it is quite unusual. The extra practice helps me be more active during the day but it also has improved my dance moves. A few favorites to dance to include Kid Cudi, Janelle Monae, Kendrick Lamar, Chance the Rapper, and Beyonce.
