Plative Gamechanger

Meet Brian George, Salesforce Consultant at Plative!

Fun Facts:

  • I am an extreme morning person and wake up at 4:15 am to start the day.
  • I studied a semester in Guadalajara, Mexico.
  • I’m on track to completing one of my 2020 goals, which is to read a book a month. For this month, I’m reading City of Thieves.
  • I meal prep on Sundays with my wife! For this week, we made Mexibowls.

How did you get into Salesforce consulting?

I got introduced to Salesforce at one of my previous employers when I was shadowing a project. I fell in love with Salesforce and was interested in the impact it has on companies. I was told that Salesforce would just be a “fad” but I took a leap of faith and pursued a career in it.

What do you do at Plative?

I’m a Salesforce Consultant on the Delivery Team. As a consultant, I work with clients to understand their business processes, gather requirements, and build out systems based on their needs. I’ve also been working heavily on project management, which I love, and it includes project timelines, assessing risks, and ensuring projects go live successfully.

If you could choose a superpower, what would it be and why?

Time Travel, hands down. I’d love to go back in time to impact the present but most importantly, I’d love to go in the future and see what sports team would win!

What is the best thing to do in Calgary?

I’ve lived in Calgary for 23 years and my favorite activities are to watch the Flames (NHL Team) Game and to go to the Calgary Stampede. The Calgary Stampede is an annual 10-day rodeo show, festival, and exhibition held in July. If I want to take a quick break from the city, I visit Canmore and Banff National Park to explore nature and the outdoors.

What was your favorite part of studying abroad in Guadalajara?

I had limited knowledge of Spanish so getting lost and learning to navigate a new city was exciting. I eventually met a group of international students who I befriended and traveled with. Every weekend, we’d go to the beach or watch a soccer game or travel to other cities, like Tulum, Cancun, and Mexico City

Why Plative?

I love the type of work that I’m doing at the company and getting exposure to different clients and learning different business verticals. There is no such thing as a dull day at work. I also love the flexibility that Plative offers. I had a daughter a few months into starting at Plative and I was able to work from home and spend every day with my daughter during her early years.
