#PlativeGameChangers | Meet Sam!

Meet Sam Lim, Nonprofit Salesforce Consultant at Plative!

Fun Facts:

  • I love rescuing wildlife, rehabilitating them, and putting them back into the wild. I saved a turtle, baby owl, snakes, and a mockingbird and nursed them back to full health with my family.
  • I love mountain biking. During my college years, I used to mountain bike at Banff National Park all the time.
  • I love hamburgers and always get them regardless of the restaurant that I am at. I first fell in love with hamburgers when I was on a camping trip in college. My friend made a burger patty from scratch and added in different kinds of spices and herbs which made the meat extremely flavorful. From then on, hamburgers became my favorite food.

What is your role at Plative?

I’m a Salesforce Consultant in Plative’s nonprofit practice.  As a consultant, I work with clients to understand their business processes, gather requirements, and build out systems based on their needs. I’ve also been working heavily on project management, which I love, and it includes project timelines, assessing risks, and ensuring projects go live successfully.

You’re from Dallas – What’s your favorite thing about it?

One of my favorite activities is biking. One of my favorite biking trails is at Lake Grapevine. It is a nice and scenic trail so I love going early in the mornings when it is quiet.

What would be your superpower, and why?

If I could choose a superpower, it would be time-travel with the ability to stop time. I would love the ability to stop time so that I have more time in the day to complete my tasks. I’d also love to travel back in time so that I can relive some moments but also re-do some life choices.

Do you have any hidden talents?

I play jazz guitar. I started a band called the Upstairs Trio after college and would play at coffee shops, parks, and streets. One of my favorite memories is playing at the park with my guitar case out in the open so that my band and I could get donations.

What’s your go-to remote work breakfast?

My breakfast every day is 2 cups of coffee with cream and honey. My breakfast is extremely light but I make up for it with my dinner! I love to cook and some of my favorite dishes that I love to cook are verde chile, Vietnamese wraps, and grilled salmon with yuca fries.
